DAY 6 : INSANITY
Day 6 of Insanity is the same as Day 2, although I felt much stronger this time. In and Out Abs are SO hard! Actually, all of the last few exercises we do were the hardest. I think it was the 4 pushups/run it out, followed by sideways abs then in and out abs. Boy-oh-boy... I loooooved how it was feeling, it was BURNING so bad and I was drenched in sweat. Jordan was struggling through it, too- but was pushing himself. I could hear how hard he was breathing and he was dripping sweat, too. I love doing this workout together! We motivate eachother to be better.

DAY 5 : PURE CARDIO <-- WOWZA!
Ok, so 'pure cardio' does not do the workout much justice. The name should be more along the lines of 'outrageously hard cardio' or maybe 'you may need an inhaler cardio.' But, never-the-less, Jordan and I suffered through it. MAN it was tough! This workout doesn't involve those nice 30 second breaks (whoever thought I would think 30 seconds was considered a 'nice' break) like the previous workouts. Instead, you bust your booty for as long as you can, hurry up and grab a sip of water, then you're right back at it. INTENSE! I loved it. When I was dripping sweat and curled up on the floor afterwards, I felt awesome. Some may think that's crazy to love a feeling like that- but nothing compares to how you feel about yourself when you finish something that the majority of the people I know would QUIT. I am sticking to these 60 days. AIN'T NO STOPPIN ME! ;) On to day 6 tonight. (Sorry, I forgot to blog yesterday after day 5).

DAY 4 : INSANITY
And so our Insanity journey continues; so far, so good. Day 4 workout was Cardio Recovery and although we weren't engaged in the running/jumping drills like the past couple days, today consisted of deep muscle workouts--- KILLER! Two particular exercises were the deep squats and hip flexers where we had to pulse after holding the squat for what seemed like forever. My quads and hammies were ON FIRE. I had to come out of the exercise a few times and get back at it. It's entertaining watching Jordan try to stretch along with the video. He's 6'6'' so it's so hard for him to reach his toes and be flexible! He will be so happy with how much his flexibility improves from these workouts. I am still anxious to get to focused ab workouts- I'm determined to tone up my mid-section. I already know for a fact my legs will be toned because they are unbelievably sore still. Advil has become my best friend!
I'm looking forward to getting back into the intense cardio workouts tomorrow through Saturday. Sounds crazy, but I like the pain. I like pushing myself- it's a GREAT feeling when the workout is over, nothing can compare!

INSANITY : 60 day Journey
My boyfriend and I have completed Day 3, and since we forgot on Day 1 to take our "before" pictures, we did it today. I- being the sensitive girl I am- had my mom retake my "before" picture because Jordan's picture taking skills made me look chubby. (Or so I thought it was his fault). Unfortunately the picture looked exactly the same when my mom took it.
My main area that I want to see improvement in is my stomach. I would like to trim the extra "chub" from my love handles and from the front of my stomach. A little definition would make me VERY happy! With the way the first 3 days went for INSANITY, I do believe I will get results in my stomach area. I'm very anxious!
Day 1 is the Fit Test. My results were:
Switch Kicks: 90
Power Jacks: 43
Power Knees: 55
Power Jumps: 25
Globe Jumps: 5
Suicide Jumps: 12
Push-up Jacks: 16
Low Plank Obliques: 34
The Fit Test alone was enough to make me sore. I was most definitely feeling it, especially when I woke up yesterday morning. But Jordan and I were excited to continue on and get to the Day 2 workout: Plyometric Cardio Circuit.
Day 2 was intense! Jordan and I each had our seperate pool of sweat by the time we were finished. I was breathing so hard and could feel my heart rate going through the roof. But I love that I am already finding that extra "Umph" when I do these exercises. I want to really push myself because I'm not okay with half-assing things! The exercises we did for Day 2 were challenging. I had to take brief breaks all throughout so my legs would stop burning. I guarantee I am going to see a huge difference in my quads, hammies, and calves by day 60 because the work load on my legs has been tremendous (and it's only been 3 days!).
Day 3 was today and it was not easier by any means! Today was Cardio Power and Resistance and Jordan and I felt like it involved a lot more upper body than yesterdays. There was more push-up incorporated exercises in today's workout. Of course there were plenty of squatting, jumping, and so forth involved. I can't explain how bad my calves burn! My groin and hamstrings are extremely sore, too. I'm happy because I can feel my lower abdominal muscles and shoulder muscles sore as well. When I walk I try not to bend my knees so that my calf muscles are not engaged... haha, it's pretty cute. I love this feeling!
I am very excited for Day 4. From my understanding it's a lot of squatting and stretching exercises since it is Cardio Recovery. But "Recovery" should not indicate "easy!" Let that be a warning!
With that being said... BRING IT ON! I'm very happy to have changed up my normal workout routine to something more challenging to my body, and I'm even more happy I have my biggest supporter, Jordan, doing this right along with me. I can't wait to see his improvements, too!
